4 Camping Gadgets That Are Actually Worth It

Heads up! Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, which means if you click and buy something, I might earn a small commission (at no extra cost to you). Think of it as tossing a few marshmallows into my campfire fund 🔥🫶 I only recommend stuff I actually use and love, thanks for helping keep the adventure going!

Let me just say this: if I’m car camping, I’m not roughing it, okay? At this point, the trunk of my car is basically a mobile outdoor luxury suite that could probably go for $250 a night on AirBnB…and I have absolutely zero shame about it. Why be uncomfortable when you have the space to bring the gear that makes camping cozier and more convenient?

Of course I love a good back-country adventure, sleeping under the stars with nothing but the essentials. But when it comes to car camping at rec sites or established campgrounds, you best believe I will be #glamping.

Over the past couple of years I’ve upgraded items and collected some gadgets that have seriously elevated my camping experience. Here are a few of my go-to pieces of gear that make my car camping experience a little bit more luxurious.

Luminaid Solar String Lights ✨ Shop Here

Lighting makes such a difference at camp and these solar string lights add all the cozy, fairy-forest vibes. I definitely love the roar of a camp-fire but the magical vibes that these give off are SO GOOD. I usually wrap them around a tree or string them from my tent to my picnic table.

The Luminaid version that I have has a bunch of different settings (from candle-flicker to full-on disco rave mode), lasts forever, and charges via solar. Plus it has a light at the bottom that doubles as a lantern. It also has a USB port, allowing you to charge your devices right from the lamp itself!

Bluetti AC70 Portable Power Station 🔋 Shop Here – Use code BRYNN5 to save some coin

I take a ton of photos while camping, and keeping all my devices charges stresses me out! I’m not trying to kill my car battery running it in accessory mode to charge everything up! Enter: the Bluetti. This power station has been so great for longer camping trips. I can now charge my phone, camera, drone, and yes…even my Nespresso machine (IKYK).

It’s pretty compact but really powerful and you can even bundle it with solar charging options. They have a ton of different models for different needs from remote workers, long-road trippers, or people who just want the security of backup power off-grid.

EUHOMY 18L Car Refrigerator ❄️ Shop Here

Yup, you read that right. A fridge. For your core. AND, it costs less than most of the trendy high-end coolers.

This 18L portable fridge is hands-down one of the best upgrades I’ve made to my camp kitchen. No more melting ice ruining my egg cartons and boxed groceries. No more soggy salads or last minute ice runs either! You can set the temperature from your phone, plug it into you car or power station, and keep your snacks crisp and cold for days.

Thermacell Backpacker Mosquito Repeller 🦟 Shop Here

I can tolerate a lot of the discomforts that come with camping but I draw the line at swarms of mosquitos. If you’ve ever been literally swarmed while trying to eat dinner or just exist outside when the bugs are bad, you need a thermacell.

This gadget basically creates a protective zone that genuinely helps keep bugs away. I like this model because it’s light enough to pack for backpacking but still powerful.

Remember, camping doesn’t have to mean roughing it! Honestly, a little luxury in the woods sometimes makes me appreciate nature even more because I’m not all wrapped up in the little annoyances. These gadgets have seriously leveled up my car-camping and they might do the same for you! I only recommend products that I genuinely love and use because I know how frustrating it is to be told to BUY THIS NOW!
